A Salmon Sampling Program was implemented by the Xat’sull First Nation, Environmental Dynamics Inc. and Taskeo – Gibraltor Mines with the assistance of the Northern Shuswap Tribal Council Fisheries and Stewardship departments on the Fraser River in 2022. The results of the Fraser River Sampling program measures amounts of heavy metals present in salmon and whether they are safe to eat.
